Description
In this Tune of the Week lesson, I tackle the great standard Blue Bossa by Kenny Dorham. This standard is a must know jazz standard and is found in most Real Books.
I work through the song from the beginning and talk about each chord and the devices and concepts I use on them. Concepts used are approach note lines, scales to use on a minor 7b5 chords, diminished and altered scale use, ii-V-I lines, blues scales, pentatonic use on a major 7th chord etc……I play the song on the tenor saxophone with a play along and teach you the concepts I use to improvise over this great standard.
