Description
How many times has a teacher or band director just told you to play the blues scale over a simple tune? You play all the notes in that scale and do the best you can but it just doesn’t sound that good and you have no idea why. In this lesson I take you through the simple concept of resolving your blues scale lines and phrases so that they sound right. I talk about how to play over major, minor and dominant grooves and chords while playing the blues scale and what notes to end your phrases on so that they sound finished and complete. This is a great lesson for beginner improvisers who might have the blues scales down but are having a hard time playing something that sounds good with them. (31 minute video lesson)
