Description
In this lesson I talk about a playing style that I teach where you play to the triplet pulse. I first heard this style years ago when I was listening to a Jerry Bergonzi album. Jerry was playing these running lines that seem to float above the time. It was like nothing I had ever heard before and I had no idea what he was doing. Over the years I figured out that what he was doing was playing his lines to the triplet pulse but he was still using jazz phrasing and articulation. In this lessons I talk in depth about this concept and how to practice it and utilize it. I demonstrate on alto sax. (Video)
