Description
This is the 8th lesson in a series on learning how to play the tenor saxophone from the very beginning. This series of lessons will be focused on learning the fundamentals of playing the saxophone and developing good habits. This series will be primarily out of the Essential Elements 2000 Book 1 for tenor saxophone so you will need that book to work out of. These are great lessons for the beginner who wants to learn the correct way to play the sax and get the most out of it.
In this lesson we are dealing with 3/4 time signatures, the importance of feeling the beat, what reed strength to try now, accents, accidentals, first and second endings and proper hand position. I also remind you of the importance of challenging yourself when you practice, having proper hand placement and technique as well as playing a duet together. I take you through page 15-17 in the Essential Elements book. (32 Minute Video Lesson)
