This is the 10th lesson in a series on learning how to play the tenor saxophone from the very beginning. This series of lessons will be focused on learning the fundamentals of playing the saxophone and developing good habits. This series will be primarily out of the Essential Elements 2000 Book 1 for tenor saxophone so you will need that book to work out of. These are great lessons for the beginner who wants to learn the correct way to play the sax and get the most out of it.
In this lesson I teach you how to use a metronome,tapping your foot independently of your playing, where to take a breath, slurs, vibrato, cold air versus hot air, and counting measure rests. I also remind you of the importance of challenging yourself when you practice, having proper hand placement and technique. I take you through page 19-20 in the Essential Elements book.
