Description
This is a beginner improviser series for tenor sax. In this series of lessons I will take you from the very beginning and teach you how to improvise.
In this lesson 7B, I will show you how to practice and play over chord progressions that change every 1,2 and 4 measures. I work with some Aebersold play alongs from volume 84 and 21 to show you how you can use these to solidify your knowledge of these chords and scales. Learning to play in phrases and keep your place while soloing is one of the most important things you can learn as a developing improviser. It is good that we are getting an early start on it in the series.
My goal with these series of lessons is too teach you all the basic chords and scales in every key and get you improvising in a fluent way over some common jazz standards. I demonstrate all the material on my tenor saxophone. (Video) (33 minutes)
