Description
This is a beginner jazz improvisation series for alto sax. In this series of lessons I will take you from the very beginning and teach you how to improvise.
In this lesson, I teach you the importance of melody. Playing lines and solos that are melodic and pleasing to the ear is one of the most important thing a young improviser can learn. Many novice improvisers have a hard time bridging the gap between learning scales and chords and then creating melodies with those building blocks. In this lesson, I show you how to do just that. It is a life long process but my goal is to get you started early so that you can become a great improviser over time. I want to become an improviser that can create great and memorable solos that the audience will hear and remember. (34 Minute Video Lesson)

If you know nothing about improvising then I would suggest the Beginner Jazz Improvisation series for saxophone. I have tenor and alto versions. Steve
Stephen LaBrooy –
Steve places emphasis on learning to play with melody and apply it to everything you play. To further emphasize the importance of this lesson Steve describes it as the golden key to everything he is telling/showing us. If you have not already got this lesson I would recommend it.
Kindest Regards Stephen
