Here’s a great video documentary on the life and playing of the great tenor saxophone player Dexter Gordon. It is called “More than You Know”. I’ve watched it a number of times and absolutely love it. Check out the blues “Blues Walk” that starts playing around 1:13! Dexter kills this blues. His lines and quotes are beautiful. Not to mention is huge focused tone and swing feel. Do yourself a favor and spend a few minutes watching some Dexter Gordon…………..(you might feel the need to practice afterwards……….)

Thank you Steve for posting this link.
Dexter is an incredible player with so melodic lines.
If you like “blues walk”, then you definitely should get the body and soul record. This Live record is awesome. His “Body and Soul” is one of the best version I have ever heard (with the one played by Chris Potter) and the solo on “there will never be another you” is also impressing, I’m still trying to transcribe it.
