This is a live clip from a gig I did 5-6 years ago. I play a tenor saxophone solo using the Fred Lamberson DD7 tenor mouthpiece I had back then. The mouthpiece is made of white acetal with a high long baffle in it that drops down into the chamber after about a half inch or so. This is Lambersons brightest mouthpiece but I still found it fat sounding. It can be brighter and wailin’ or you can lay back on it and get a great jazz tone. The tune is “For the Love of You”. Since then I have sold this mouthpiece because I found it too bright but as I listen to this clip I really like the tone of it. This is the same mouthpiece I use on the “Let’s Get it On” video.
Killer sound! Also have to give some props to Fred Lamberson. Acetal+high baffle generally seems to be the most powerful edgy combo, but with your skill and a great designed mouthpiece, it sounds nice and smooth as well.
Nice!!! Love your sound on this one!!
